Individual counseling is an opportunity to receive support and guidance during challenging times in life. Individual counseling can help deal with many personal issues in life, including anxiety, anger, depression, marriage and relationship problems, career changes, etc.
Counselor accompanies individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, work through challenging or influential memories, understand themselves and others, set goals, and move toward desired change.
You can live a more joyful, fulfilling life by working toward your full potential with the aid of self-development counseling.

When ADHD is identified, people may experience relief—but also despair as they consider the opportunities they missed because they did not receive treatment when they were younger (this is especially frequent in persons age 40 and older).
People with ADHD sometimes have cynical worldviews that are founded on the idea that everyone else is succeeding while they, despite their potential, are failing. Over their lifetime, they have formed bad habits. Self-esteem, confidence, and interpersonal connections can suffer significantly as a result of ADHD. Through the challenges that they have gone through, they may behave aggressively and have low tolerance for frustration, temper outbursts, emotional instability, stubbornness, conflicts with others, problems with social skills, low self-esteem.
The major objectives of psychotherapy sessions are to assist clients in establishing skills that will facilitate lifestyle changes, frame challenging circumstances in a way that is beneficial, assist them in gaining more self-control, self-esteem, self-confidence, and interpersonal relationships, and assist them in overcoming aggressive behaviours.
Participating in the brief and user-friendly online Adult Self-Report Scale (ASRS) Screener, developed by the World Health Organization*, can offer valuable insights. The ASRS v1.1 questions align with DSM-IV criteria, focusing on adult ADHD symptoms. The questionnaire's content mirrors DSM-IV's emphasis on symptoms, impairments, and history for accurate diagnosis. The screening takes 3-10 minutes and involves responses to reflective questions. Subsequently, you can share your name and email to promptly receive quiz results. Based on the outcome, personalized recommendations for the next steps will be provided, and the decision to pursue further action rests entirely with you.
Completing the checklist takes approximately 5 minutes and can supply crucial information to complement the diagnostic process.
Research indicates that ADHD symptoms can persist into adulthood, affecting relationships, careers, and personal safety. Unfortunately, the disorder is frequently misunderstood, leading to inadequate treatment and hindering individuals from realizing their full potential. The challenges in diagnosing ADHD in adults further contribute to this issue.
Numerous adults with untreated ADHD often avoid seeking diagnosis or treatment due to the negative stigma associated with the condition, sometimes dismissed as mere laziness exploited by pharmaceutical companies. Despite this stigma, scientific research affirms the existence of adult ADHD and its impact on quality of life. It is crucial to be aware of adult ADHD, as an accurate diagnosis opens up various treatment options and coping strategies tailored to individual needs. Utilizing an adult ADHD test is a helpful initial step in understanding symptoms.
At Bright Start Bright Future Counselling Centre, we can provide both official adult ADHD assessments and also self-screening tests.
